PRIVACY POLICY

What we collect, and who sees it.

Short version: no real money, no identity documents, and your event organizer can see everything inside their own room.

LAST UPDATED: 23 August 2026

What this covers

This policy describes what The Trade House collects when you take part in a simulated trading competition hosted at thetradehouse.in, and what happens to it afterwards.

Competitions are run by organizers: a college society, a company, a training provider. They set up the market and the accounts; we host the platform it runs on.

What we collect

Account details, created by your event organizer rather than by you: a username, a password, and for participants a team name. We do not ask you to register, and we do not collect an email address, a phone number, a date of birth, or any identity document in order to run a simulation.

Activity inside the simulation: the orders you place, the holdings and simulated cash balance that result, any IPO bids you submit, and the timestamps of those actions. This is what the market and the standings are computed from.

Ordinary technical information that any website receives, such as your browser type and the requests it makes, used to keep the service running and secure.

What we never collect

No real money moves through this platform and none is ever requested. We do not collect bank details, card numbers, payment information, brokerage credentials, or KYC documents, and the platform is not connected to any real exchange or trading account.

All balances, prices and instruments inside a competition are fictional.

Who can see your information

Your event organizer can see everything inside their own competition: the teams they created, those teams’ login credentials, and all trading activity and standings within that room. This is deliberate: organizers need to be able to re-issue a login to a team that has lost it, and to resolve disputes about what was traded.

Because of that, please do not reuse a password you use for anything else. Treat the credentials you are given as belonging to the event, not to you.

Organizers can only see their own competition. Rooms are separated at the data level, so one event’s organizer cannot see another event’s teams, trades or standings.

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

How it is kept

Passwords used to sign in are stored hashed. As described above, organizers additionally retain the ability to retrieve the credentials they issued to their own teams, so that they can redistribute them during an event.

Data is held with our hosting and database providers, who process it on our behalf in order to run the service.

How long it is kept

Competition data is tied to the competition it belongs to. When a competition is deleted, its participants, holdings, trades, instruments and standings are deleted along with it.

If you took part in an event and want your data removed sooner, contact the organizer who ran it, or contact us and we will work with them.

Your choices

You can ask us what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Because organizers own their competitions, some requests are quickest resolved through them.
